I want to be a teacher because it's the only thing I can picture doing with my life. There is nothing more rewarding than helping children learn something. It takes so much work and dedication, but in the end it is totally worth it.

I wanted to respond to your question about why do I teach?
Is it okay to bend the rules and answer why I want to be a teacher?
The reason is because of my own school experience. I was bullied for such a long time in elementary, middle, and early high school. I always felt like I had no one to go to, or no one who would help me. I want to be a teacher so that I can be there for someone, and so that I can put a stop to the bullying.

I teach because complaining about "the next generation" means nothing. Taking an active role in shaping these children into the kinds of people who will one day make things better in our world is a far more valuable use of my time and resources. And I'm sure I won't help every child in my classroom reach their potential, but maybe I'll influence a few of them throughout my career. And maybe those children will grow up to make a real difference in society.
